A Unique Manchester City Gift Idea!

'And then it was Five'

It’s always nice to beat Manchester United but when you do it 5-1 the victory is all the sweeter.

Celebrating Andy Hinchcliffe’s stunning headed goal that completed City’s demolition of their neighbours in the 1989 Manchester Derby at Maine Road, this superb watercolour is a timeless reminder of that famous day.

Edition Prints are printed A2 (420mmx594mm) size.

Re-live the moment

Barclays League Division One, 23rd September 1989
Manchester City 5 -1 Manchester United

Confidence wasn’t high. That same old feeling in the pit of your stomach the minute you wake up until the game kicks off and the heart starts pounding. Come on City do it for us.
Scuffles break out in the North Stand after about 3 minutes but once the teams come back out the goals start flying in. 1-0 to City (Oldfield), 2-0 (Morley), 3-0 (Bishop). Maine Road sings like it’s never sung before. The second half kicks off and Hughes crashes in a scissor kick to make it 3-1 before Oldfield taps one in to steady any nerves. Can it get any better. Suddenly Bishop finds space in midfield and floats a beauty of a pass out wide. White gallops to the ball and meets it on the run, lashing it to the far post where Hinchcliffe steams in and meets it with his head, crashing the ball in to the United net. Party Time!
